My Servant is an Incubus
Written by Julia and Major Ursa
Chapter 1
----- Richard (Julia)
Richard rolled his eyes and ran his fingers through his hair, watching steam rise from the tea kettle. The princess wanted tea. Sick. What human being would willingly stomach that brew, let alone request it! The princess must be unable to taste anything at all. The kettle began to whistle, and Richard lifted it and poured it into a ceramic pot.
Maybe Richard's distaste for tea started with his distaste for being sold and enslaved to a royal family. He wasn't even a human! He was an Incubus, and as much as he wanted to just haunt the Princess in her sleep, there was a holy blessing about the place, so he couldn't very well use his demonic abilities.
He climbed the stairs, a tray with the teapot, cups, sugar, honey, and anything else the princess might want for her tea and he put on a false smile as he stepped into her room.
"Good morning, Your Highness." he said, his naturally smooth and suave voice still distinct without his abilities present. "How are you this morning?" he asked, feigning that he actually cared about how she was feeling.
And just to be clear, Richard didn't want the princess dead, nor did he hate her. He just didn't like people in general. He was technically a slave, and that didn't fare well with him, but he couldn't do anything about it. Things like that tend to make both people and demons bitter.
----- Lou (Major Ursa)
Princess Lou (Louise) sat in bed with the silk covers over her lap, looking out the imported window and over the lake. It was a bit much, that is, for the King to send her to the capital (island) city to recover from her bout of the flu. She could appreciate this sort of view though, water birds flew over head and dived into and onto the water, and the water was clean and drinkable. The sun was high in the sky, not a cloud in sight, and she could see the mainland of her father's Kingdom of Lapsis in the distance.
She pulled out a hand mirror from her bedside drawer and began to examine her appearance. 'Still looking good, elegant even…dignified. Any princess try and pull this off while wearing warm baggy PJs!' Well, her skin had taken a certain pallor in the week of her illness, dark circles under her dark eyes were what made her look worse off. Lou untangled some of her black hair with her hands and let out a tired sigh, she was restless from not doing much else but sit in bed, but the tea was supposed to help her with that.
Her new servant Richard entered into the room, he was assigned to her sometime after entering the harbor of the Capital, it intrigued her that he was supposedly an incubus. She was impressed by his attractive and suave demeanor as he entered with the tray that is…till she saw the tea. Lou… didn't much like tea; she preferred wine and sometimes snuck in her favorite inelegant beer every so often. He…brought the wrong tea. This was the regular tea; the dark sleep-easy tea must have been mistakenly switched by the servants.
"Thank you. You can stay and wait for me to finish, then you can return everything to the cooking area." She said evenly while feigning a royal smile, still peeved, but it would inelegant to waste a freshly brewed tea. She picked up a poured cup and began to add spoonfuls of both honey and sugar, then plenty of cream till it became almost white.
It wasn't all bad, the sleep-easy tea was awful, and she could stay up reading about foreign countries again. She looked at her servant and blushed, he was really attractive! Lou turned to go back and stare out the window while drinking her hot, sugar-honey-cream diluted tea, wishing she was home in her regular castle with her older brothers.
----- Richard
Richard nodded and stood still and unmoving, watching the princess drink her tea. He now regretted that he hadn't poisoned it or anything. He didn't want to be so proper. It made him feel relatively sick. He sighed and shifted his weight, his heels beginning to burn from the pressure.
"Is there anything else I can get you, Princess Louise?" he asked, his charm still spewing from his lips, despite the feelings of boredom and displeasure he was feeling. His nearly yellow eyes scanned her, noting that she was rather beautiful. Although she was sick, she was certainly a princess.
Then he noticed the knotted condition of her hair. It was thick and black, and would be a shame if it got any worse than it already was. He took a step forward.
"Princess, may I comb out your hair? It seems to be bothering you. And I will bring you some ribbon so I may put your hair up." he suggested, raising an inquisitive eyebrow. "Please, Princess Louise?" he asked, a feeling bubbling sludge seem to creep into his gut at his offer to help anyone.
----- Lou
Lou let out another sigh, peeved this time by him calling her Princess Louise. 'Lou' was a preferred nickname used by her brothers and her close friends, to everyone else she'd always be 'Princess Louise' "Alright then, I will allow you to do so. I have an audience with well-wishers today anyway, have the other servants procure a light blue dress…any other color might dizzy me."
She swung her legs over the side of her bed, to allow him to sit behind her and comb her hair. She realized her pajama shirt was low and loose, but it could have been worse, she could have chosen to wear her nightie instead. She was sorely tempted to do just that, just to see this handsome man blush and run off, like all servants do. "My hair is straight for the most part, don't add any ribbons."
----- Richard
He nodded and ordered a servant that passed by her room to procure a dress for the princess, of a very light blue dress. He then sat behind her and started at the bottom and worked his way up through her black hair. He attempted to be gentle, and he looked at her and cleared his throat.
"No ribbon, correct princess? I may need some..." he whispered, tied her hair into a ponytail, and began to braid her hair. "Trust me, I know what I'm doing." he whispered and tied a small string to the end of her hair. He then wrapped the braid around itself and then used a light blue ribbon to keep it up. He noted then how beautiful she was.
He lifted the mirror so she could see what he had done. "Do you like it?"
----- Lou
She…was getting a little ticked off with his insistence in braiding her hair. First the tea, then her nickname, but it couldn't be helped. She liked the feel of her hair blowing wild in the wind….but she was in the Capital recovering the way her father wanted her to. She couldn't wait to get better and do what she wanted to do. But for now, she'd have to continue to drink her tea and lay in bed. "It's good." She spoke impassively. She checked herself out in the mirror, 'Not bad, actually.'
Lou stretched out a bit away from Richard, she felt better than she had in the recent days, she was still a bit feverish a times though. She felt a lot more like 'Lou' and less like 'Princess Louise', she was going to ask him the question she always felt like asking the moment she learn of him being an incubus, "So…" she began nervously, almost reaching up and scratching her braided hair "Do you have a hidden demonic form? You know…with wings and a tail, horns? Maybe bull or goat lower body…hooves?" she realized her curiosity probably destroyed this man's royal image of her, but she had to know.
----- Richard
Richard instantly noticed that she didn't necessarily enjoy having her hair up, so he gently took it down and smiled a bit. She seemed easily pissed, and he gave a genuine smile when she asked about his more demonic side. He chuckled, taking pride in the fact he was in fact a high-level demon that had previously been chosen to heir the throne of hell.
"As a matter of fact, I do. I can't very well show it here, knowing that a damned priest blessed the premises. I'm lucky I'm not already burning to ash." he smirked. He eyed her with his gold looking eyes and chuckled, and examined the look of wonder on her face. "Would you enjoy seeing my wings?" he asked, more than happy to show off. He grinned with teeth, exposing his slightly sharper canines.
"I have wings, and as an Incubus, a half bull or goat body would keep me from doing my job. If I have a goat or bull body, no more incubi or succubae are born." he said, running his hand through his hair. "I do, however, have horns that start above my ear and go backwards from my head, and my hair grows down my spine." he stated.
----- Lou
She smiled for a second when he gently took down her hair, but hid it quickly, no special treatment for servants...though, she was glad he was attentive, "Hmmm…" She was a little disappointed that she couldn't see his complete real form, if he was to serve her for longer than her stay in the Capital, it would be imperative that she got used to seeing his true form. Vanishing the rest of that thought, she realized he had no real idea why he couldn't use his powers…it wasn't just the blessings of the priest. The land of the island capital was sacred, the reason why one of the neighboring countries were at war with Lapsis.
When her father was still young, he did a bold move to assert his conqueror's will, completely taking control of the sacred land and making it his new capital. He cleared out the original inhabitants, killed those who wouldn't leave, and even had a child with one of their women. That child was his first son, Lou's oldest brother Clovis, whose hair was crimson like the original inhabitants of Lapsis.
No one quite knew how the magical powers of the capital's holy land worked, sometimes she doubted it's original inhabitants knew either…But the King learned soon after that all demonic beings, and some heavenly ones, were unable to use their powers without ill effects. All captured beings of this nature were brought as servants to the Capital for this very reason. Of course, there were still captured beings outside of the capital, forced into servitude through heavy holy wards or seals.
The knowledge wasn't completely uncommon, so it wouldn't be wrong to tell Richard about it later, he at least had the right to know. The servant suddenly came in and presented her with the dress, they eyed the incubus suspiciously, then left. Lou would have to tell him about it later. She picked up the dress and looked at it. Sure, it was a calm light blue, but there were so many layers of lace and ribbons. She couldn't help but shake her head.
She turned to the incubus, wondered what it was like, not quite knowing why you weren't complete. Lou knew why she wasn't complete, but once she got over the flu she could go back home, where she belonged..."We shall speak about this later. Wait outside; I need to dress myself now." She stared at him blankly, waiting for him to leave.
----- Richard
Richard rolled his eyes and started to leave the room. "I've seen more naked women than any other creature on this earth. But for your sake Princess, I shall leave you to do your dressing in privacy." he said with a gentlemanly bow before exciting the room and standing outside of the door. Being her personal servant, he wasn't permitted to wander far on his own.
----- Lou
'Oh that cheeky bastard...' she couldn't help but think, she narrowed her eyes at him as he left her to her changing. 'It doesn't matter how many women he's seen, hell, even slept with! He never seen a woman quite like me before, couldn't even pretend...' she convinced herself. 'He seemed so charming till now...and to think that I was going to bring him to the mainland with me and hire him as a regular servant.' As soon as he left she began to undress, untying her drawstring pants and letting them fall to the floor, then she unbuttoned her shirt and threw it onto the floor as well. Instead of picking it up and setting on to the bed for the servants to pick up, like a good princess, she instead kicked it under the bed to sit with yesterday's old clothing. She began to slip on the dress, deciding against the traditional girdle, as usual. The dress went down to the floor, convenient. Lou knelt down beside her bed, brushing aside the dirty clothing; she pulled out her sheathed blade.
It was a highly decorated piece, from when her father first conquered this land, she wasn't proud of him and that time, but she loved him all the same. The pulled the blade from it's sheath, it was a gnarly jagged blade, it matched her father perfectly. Lou began to work, detaching the hilt, and then pulling out bandages to secure the blade to her upper leg. There were people who'd go after her to get to her father, she'd have to work hard to avoid them...and if she couldn't, she'd have to do her part to protect herself. After all this, she stood in front of the larger mirror, perfect, 'Once I get off this island...me, Clovis and George are going to hit the tavern and--' she felt a wave of dizziness hit her, and soon she hit the ground. She tried to get up again, but the dizziness brought her back to the ground, "R-Richard!" she gasped out "Tell them to cancel my meeting with the well-wishers, I'm not feeling too great." She pulled the covers off the bed and allowed herself to fall asleep inelegantly on the floor.
----- Richard
Richard rushed back in and saw the princess sleeping on the floor. The other servants had also gathered around. He lifted her gently and took a deep breath as he laid her back down on the bed. He was going to put her in more comfortable clothes, but knowing his reputation as an Incubus, he couldn't very well do that while all these other servants watched him. He turned to the other servants and even though it burned him, he hypnotized them to leave with his yellow eyes and tell the well-wishers to be on their merry way.
Then he turned back to the sleeping princess. He lifted her sleep pants and her pajama shirt, setting them on the bed and then he began to tenderly and carefully strip the dress from the princess. Of all the women he had seduced and made love with, he was astonished by the flawless condition of this woman. She had a perfect figure and not a freckle or scar on her body. He took a deep breath, attempting not to completely ravage her body, and simply redressed her gracefully.
"And the princess sleeps," he whispered, covering her with the blanket then sitting down in a chair on the other side of the room.
